Where to Enjoy Jax Beach Golf

If your idea of a perfect afternoon involves challenging yourself with 18 holes scattered across an absolutely beautiful course, then you’ll delight in spending your days in the Sunshine State. In fact, golfers will find a number of fantastic places to test their skills right in Jax Beach.

Jax Beach Golf Club

When it comes to golf in Jacksonville Beach, there’s no doubt that the Jax Beach Golf Club is the hometown course. After all, it’s owned and operated by the city of Jacksonville Beach. With more than a half-century of history, the club is now a pillar of Jax Beach life. It’s ranked as one of the top 30 places to play in Florida by Golf Digest, and thanks to extensive renovations started in 2018, it’s better than ever. Lush fairways of Bermuda grass and salt-resistant turf and modernized drainage and irrigation systems have improved the course’s appearance and playability. Several greens have been reconfigured, and there are now more par-4 holes and fewer water hazards. Plus, the driving range has been expanded, and the Pro Shop has been renovated. There’s even a new restaurant that’s open for everyone to enjoy.

Bent Creek Golf Course

A public golf course and arguably the best value in Jacksonville Beach golf, Bent Creek Golf Course delivers 18 holes of championship-level play. It was crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber. As golfers play the 6,620-yard, par-71 course, they’ll enjoy a trip through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and be treated to views of creeks, swales, and towering pines. Challenging and fun, the layout includes plush fairways and Bermuda grass greens. There’s also a cutting-edge lighted practice facility.

Hidden Hills Golf Club

A once-private club that is now open to everyone, the Hidden Hills Golf Club boasts a championship Arnold Palmer Signature Design golf course. Located on one of the highest elevations in Jacksonville, it features a distinctive design with rolling hills and fairways. Whether you opt for 9 or 18 holes or choose to walk or ride, you’re sure to enjoy the luxurious landscaping and tranquil setting. Are you interested in getting some tips? There’s a practice facility, a driving range, a chipping green, and a putting green with PGA professionals nearby to offer assistance.

Cimarrone Golf and Country Club

Dubbed “The Wild One” because of its intriguing play, the Cimarrone Golf and Country Club is a 6,891-yard, par-72 course. Just five minutes off of I-95, this semi-private course takes golfers through stunning wetlands, marsh, and pines. It has mildly rolling terrain with substantial fairways and ample water hazards, so it delights the eye even as it presents a delightful challenge for skilled golfers. Play a round, and you’ll understand why it was selected as one of the Top 100 Golf Courses in Florida.

Windsor Parke Golf Club

With an 18-hole, championship course designed by Arthur Hills, Windsor Parke Golf Club is recognized as a “Beginner Friendly” golf course by the National Golf Course Owners Association. That doesn’t make it any less prestigious. The course has hosted qualifying for several events, including the US Open, US Amateur, and US Senior Amateur events. There’s also a practice range where you can warm up or take lessons with the club’s teaching staff.

Queen’s Harbour Yacht and Country Club

While it might not get title billing, the golf course at Queen’s Harbour Yacht and Country Club is still quite impressive. It’s hosted the PGA Tour Qualifier, the Mercedes Collegiate Championships, and the FSGA State Championship Qualifiers. The course is designed by Mark McCumber and blends tidal marshlands with century-old Spanish oaks. In addition to the course itself, there are putting and chipping greens, a driving range, and a world-class golf club that includes a full-service clubhouse.
