Individualized Care, Tailored To Your Needs
All of our Memory Care residents have a personalized assessment performed in order to create an individual care plan prior to move-in. This care plan is tailored to address the specific needs of your loved one. We understand and recognize that each of our residents has their own unique requirements for care, and customize each plan to meet those needs. At Beach House we’ve adapted our memory care program around your loved one.
Each resident enjoys a spacious suite and receives assistance from our talented care staff, who are equipped with the techniques needed to understand and care for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s. We follow an established program of thorough training and hands-on guidance, which enables our care team to manage the unmet behavioral, emotional, and personal needs that are common in the progression of cognitive disorders. This includes encouraging, prompting, and problem-solving.
Our innovative approach to personalized care for seniors with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory impairments allows us to provide comprehensive care at various levels of the disease process. Our care staff will address the
challenges associated with cognitive issues with respect and compassion while preserving residents’ dignity.

To this end, we partner with residents’ families to gather information about their loved ones so that we can tailor our daily routines to their needs. Our Memory Care community embraces our “Touch of Grace” Memory Care philosophy where we incorporate the use of the five senses of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch during our moment-to-moment interaction throughout the day. These interactions bring back memories and various moments of joy within each resident. Grace is a simple elegance of our actions and movements with all we do. Many opportunities are provided throughout the day to stir these senses. We offer cooking, exercise, outdoor time, arts and crafts as well as trivia and reminiscing time. Each one of these activities encourages our residents to discuss what they enjoy and moments in their pasts that have created this positive emotion.
The programming within our “Touch of Grace” is created to provide a “purposeful place” for each resident at each hour of the day. Our programming includes engaging the residents to start their day through actions like opening their drapes that darken the room during the nighttime hours, making coffee to fill the area with the aroma, and turning up the lights in the hall, living room and kitchen. We embrace every simple routines as opportunities to establish routines within our day. We provide memory games, trivia games, history, travel videos and education which are all interactive with our group of residents. This has been a very successful way to encourage our residents to interact and engage with one another. Family Feud has been a favorite! These many engagements have sparked many memories and discussions where we all learn about one another while we reminisce together.
As the Executive Director, it is such a blessing to be part of a team providing care and engagement to each resident. Within this close-knit community, we are like family to one another where we share our successes, memories, and moments of joy. To see the smile on a resident’s face provides the warm confirmation of their sense of belonging which is truly a gift every day.
