Karen Coleman is the Director of Memory Care at Beach House Assisted Living and Memory Care. She was born in Newport News Virginia and has lived in many states due to her father being in the Army.
Her passion for working in senior living began at a young age while spending time with her grandparents and working as a CNA at a skilled and rehabilitation facility while in high school in Columbia Maryland. She then spent time working at St. Paul’s Preschool as an assistant teacher for 3 & 4-year-olds and eventually began working in senior living in 2009 as an activity assistant which was extremely rewarding. She took classes to further her education in geriatrics and became a CMDP and CDP. In 2018, She became a Memory Care Director, and it has been the best experience, she enjoys ensuring that resident’s lives are enriched and continue to grow and experience new things.
Her passions outside of senior living are spending time with her family which includes 3 children and a 98-year-old grandmother. She loves volunteering with the homeless and helps with a charity golf tournament alongside her mom every year. Karen is excited to get to know you and your family members, she is so thankful to be a part of this amazing team at Beach House Assisted Living & Memory Care.
